Rule #10

This is going to be one of my stranger rules, however I think it could be one of the most important ones. DON'T blow off the geeky guys. This could work for people of almost any age, but it is most important for women still in school. Here are the reasons I highly recommend the "geeky" guys. First and foremost, they are much more open to expressing their feelings than a manly man. Burly cavemen feel the urge to keep up with their rugged status and can't be bothered with emotions. Geeks are, without a doubt, going to fight to keep you. No matter who you are, they will always feel you are too good for them (which they should) and will work very hard not to mess things up. The other type will typically have the opposite opinion and try to pull that "you can't do any better than me" mess. PLEASE if you listen to nothing else I say, any man who feels that way is good for nothing!

This reason only really works for the younger crowd, but believe it or not, men can really blossom and grow into their good looks after high school. This gives you a little extra incentive to stick it out because you could be in for a big surprise later on in life. And lastly, geeks are more likely to have a good future ahead of them. Typically (but not always) geeks are well known for working extra hard in school, so you'd better believe he has high aspirations in the future job field.

Rule #9

There's one very important way to tell if your man is really interested in you or if he's really not that interested in creating a realationship. You just have to ask yourself, "is he a planner"? What I mean by this is does he go out of his way to arrange the next time he is going to get to see you in advance. It may not seem this way at first, but guys that are spontaneous or don't like to "plan" are not interested in you the way you'd want them to be.

In my experience, the guy would plan for us to meet up, but if I would ask him what time or for anything specific for that manner, he would clam up and say that I was planning his day for him. Needless to say, that's a bad sign. If you are someone like me and do not want to plan your day around someone else's spontaneity, then get out quick! A guy that is really into will plan your next date while he is with you so there is no chance of him not getting a hold of you in the future.

Human Lie Detector Part II

You may find yourself asking "Where were you last night?" and he may quickly jump to a extremely convincing and well detailed story. If this happens, he could be lying. Someone who plans out a lie will tell you any unnecessary details to make him seem more credible.

Anyone who has watched a show like CSI may have heard that the direction a person looks in while recalling a story may help determine whether they are making the story up, or recalling events. Though, there is no black and white way to tell whether or not they are lying, here are some ways to show how eye directions link to memory and knowing these may help you catch someone telling a tall tale.

Up and to the Left:
When a person looks in this direction, they are trying to visually construct an image. For instance, if you ask someone to imagine their life in 15 years, they will construct this visually even though they don't know what it would look like for sure.
Up and to the Right:
When a person is looking in this direction they are recalling images. For example, if you ask someone what their first pet looked like, they should glance up in this direction.
To the Left:
This a the direction people look when they construct audio sounds. For instance,
you may ask a person what someone said yesterday. If they are making up something they said, they will glance to the left.
To the Right:
When the person glances to the right, they are actually remembering something said, or more specifically, a sound.
Down to the Left:
This direction is used to recall a feeling. If you asked someone to try to remember what their grandmother's cookies smelled like, this would be the direction they'd look.
Down to the Right:
This is the direction people will typically look when they are talking to themselves.

Human Lie Detector

This is not exactly one of my rules, but I thought it might be interesting to put in here. There are certain forms of body language that will help you determine if someone (boyfriend) is lying. For one, if a person is lying, their physical expression will be limited and stiff. For example, they will use few hand movements and whenever they move, it is close to the body. A liar tends to take up less space. Also, they will avoid making eye contact and their hands will usually migrate toward their face, throat, mouth, nose, and behind the ear. Liars are unlikely to touch their chest with an open hand.

When it comes down to signs of affection and emotional gestures, when a person is lying, the lie itself will be a different pace than the rest of their statement. Also, if there is a separation between signs of two emotional expressions, a person is most likely lying. For example, if a person receives a gift and says "I love it!", and then they smile, they are most likely faking.

When accused, a guilty person will get defensive every time. Also, a liar is uncomfortable facing his accuser and may turn his body or head away during confrontation. They may attempt to separate themselves from the accuser by unconsciously placing objects between themselves and the questioner. When someone answers a question, a statement with a contraction is more likely to be truthful. For example, "I didn't do it" instead of "I did not do it". They may try to avoid lying by not making direct statements and implying answers rather than answering it directly.
To be continued...

Rule # 8

I like to call Rule # 8 Taking the Plunge. If you truly feel that you have a legitimately healthy relationship and you might be ready to take your relationship further (moving in together, marriage, etc...) then please DO NOT be afraid to ask your man where he stands as far as long term commitment goes. Then again please do not let infatuation blind your eyes and expect wedding bells after a few months. Some women want to be done "hunting" so bad that they do not take a second to fully assess how compatible they are with their mate.
But, if you truly feel you are ready to take the next step, talk to your man. If he seems really weary of the thought of being "stuck with you", then throw that fish back. That is an extremely bad sign, and even if you do convince him to marry you, it definitely will not last. If the two of you have been together for a few years and he keeps saying "I don't want to mess up a good thing by making things too permanent", get out while you still can. That makes it obvious he has some commitment issues which could easily lead him astray.
